Description
*Ink-Shadow Dash* is an endless runner featuring an ink-wash painting aesthetic, set against the backdrop of an ever-unfolding Oriental scroll. The protagonist is a living wolf-hair brush, and the act of running is essentially the brush tip gliding across *xuan* paper. The game’s innovative feature is its Brushstroke Mechanics: players hold the screen to charge up power and release to unleash ink attacks—using them to dot and tint boulders blocking the path or break the ink to cleave through waterfalls—all while maintaining their forward momentum.
The 3,000 levels are organized around the theme of the Four Seasons. The Spring levels (1–750) feature gentle terrain, focusing on mastering the timing of charged attacks. The Summer levels (751–1500) are plagued by thunderstorms and poor visibility, requiring players to rely on sound to detect obstacles ahead. Autumn levels (1501–2250) introduce falling leaves that obscure the view, along with slippery ground and increased momentum. Winter levels (2251–3000) feature falling icicles, forcing players to rapidly switch between high and low positions while sliding to dodge them.
The skill set focuses on variations in brushwork. Dry Brush/Flying White doubles the range of the next ink-based attack, making it ideal for clearing obstacles from afar; Rich Ink expands the attack radius but slightly reduces movement speed; and Suspended Needle Vertical is an active skill that launches the character rapidly upward, allowing them to evade large-scale ground traps. Skills are upgraded using Pine Soot Ink Blocks, which players must locate hidden in the corners of the scroll-like levels.
